历史悠久，流传广泛

陕西剪纸造型明朗、简练，具有浓郁的民俗特色，是中国农村众多民间美术形式的浓缩。
可分为单色剪纸、拼色剪纸、染色剪纸、衬色剪纸、纸塑剪纸等。
主要形式有窗窑顶花、炕围花、门画、挂帘、枕花、桌裙花、鞋花、结婚双喜花、衣物佩饰花、神龛贴花等，其中，窗花最为普遍。
